Part 3 0f 10
Everyone loves a good sale. Companies enjoy increased business, while consumers enjoy saving some hard earned money. Unfortunately, a sale is only good if your customers know about it.
Social media makes it extremely easy for companies to promote special deals and let their customers know when they are having a sale. Updating your Twitter, your Facebook or Myspace status, or sending out a quick message to friends on other sites, will let customers know about an opportunity to save money. This is not only a quick way to advertise promotions, it is a quick way to reach a large number of people.
While social media makes it quick and easy for business owners to advertise their latest promotions, there are some business owners that will inevitably argue that this advertising can be done on their website. Of course, this is true. However, most of your customers are not checking your website daily. They are, on the other hand, checking their Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, and other social media accounts daily, which means they are more likely to find out about a sale through these websites.
Sales can also be offered to customers that become a friend, fan, or follower of your business on a social media website. By offering new fans or friends a discount on their next purchase, you can easily accumulate a bigger following and secure new customers, which is yet another benefit of social media.
