Part 4 of 10
Social media is a cool, modern way to keep in touch with customers. When a business is active in social media, consumers will automatically view them as modern and up to date on the current trends. Businesses that are not active in social media are seen as behind the times, and perhaps even afraid of change.
It’s not just teenagers and kids that are involved in social media. Adults, parents, and even grandparents are active in social communities like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and many other websites. Social Media is not a passing trend. These websites are expanding with each passing day and are showing no signs of stopping.
Social media also gives businesses the opportunity to broaden their clientele. Because people of every age and race are involved in social media, businesses can appeal to more people. Businesses that wouldn’t normally appeal to teens or other demographics, can reach these groups by sending out a tweet or update, which is easier for younger generations to relate to than other promotional methods. Even if social media seems intimidating, now is the time to jump in and get your business active in the social media world, especially if you don’t want to be seen as “old school” by the cool young people that could possibly prove to be some of your most loyal customers.
