It’s no secret that the popularity of the Internet is at an all-time high. What many people don’t know, however, is that the Internet has seen an immense amount of changes over the course of the past few years, particularly in the realm of social media. Social media is currently the hottest trend on the net, and one of the most important things you can do is to have a custom blog built in order to capitalize on this popularity. Having a custom blog will set you apart from the competition, and will ultimately lead to more sales and leads.

These days, users expect something more out of the Internet. Not only does pertinent information need to be made available, it must be delivered in a human tone. The popularity of blogs and social media sites like Facebook and Twitter point towards a massive shift in functionality for the Internet, which many people refer to as “Web 2.0.” If a company or individual does not personalize themselves, the chances that users will not show interest are quite high. With a custom blog on your side, you won’t have to worry about potentially alienating an entire market of individuals.

Custom blogs on the WordPress platform have helped thousands of business owners throughout the world to not only better market their products, but to do so in a way that appeals to users. Marketing has become far more tricky than in the past, as consumers are smarter than ever before and do not want to feel as if they are being sold something. With the personal approach of a custom blog, however, it is possible to “market” your products without ever going near the idea of a traditional advertising platform. By simply speaking directly to your audience as if they are equals, you can gain the trust of thousands of individuals far easier than if you were to use more traditional methods.

In today’s rapidly expanding world of online competition, there is simply no room for error when it comes to building business branding and marketing to consumers online. With custom blogs, you can ensure that you’re doing all that is necessary to remain in the public eye and to attract attention, which can inevitably lead to higher sales numbers within a very short period of time. Outsourcing blog design has become the best way to acquire a high-quality, functional blog.

Social media advertising can be powerful for a small or a large company. It allows your company to be more personal when connecting to your customers. Social media advertising has the unique ability to go viral. A single message can reach thousands of millions of people.

Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, and LinkedIn are all good sites for social media advertising. With millions of users, these networks have a wide variety of people using them. Each network is easy to set up and easy to use. They are all free which makes them perfect for a small business or one with a limited advertising budget.

One status update or tweet can go viral in social media advertising. This means that users that receive the message share it with their friends. Their friends can share it again and so on. When this happens, you can reach hundreds of new potential customers each time your message is shared. This is referred to as going viral because your message replicates and spreads without any effort from you.

“When doing social media advertising, it’s important not to spam your customers. Although your followers have to choose to follow you, they still don’t want a lot of spam.”When doing social media advertising, it’s important not to spam your customers. Although your followers have to choose to follow you, they still don’t want a lot of spam. Keep business related posts to once a day and try to add in other posts as well. Send messages with inspiring quotes, trivia, and other non-business related posts. Don’t post too many updates or your followers will delete you, or worse, block you.

Social media advertising allows your company to interact with and engage potential customers. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice and opinions. Your followers want to know their voice is heard, so ask them about your new line and invite them to make suggestions. Being personable can help them hold your company in higher esteem. When it is time to purchase a product that you sell, they will remember your company and feel a connection.

Social media advertising can be very effective if done properly. Try not to spam your customers. Show them that your company is real and cares about your customers and followers. One single message has the ability to reach thousands of people, so use each message wisely.

While it may be easy for your business to simply create a ready to publish blog on the internet, doing so without blog customization will leave your brand weaker and give the appearance of an unprofessional and amateurish effort, instead of the sophisticated and well run business that you actually own and operate. Blog customization means extending your unique brand and message to your audience through a blog that has been custom designed to clearly identify that brand and message.

Blog customization includes advanced graphics design. Instead of a prefabricated blog template that can be used by anyone in the world, blog customization provides your company with a graphic template that is entirely unique. When current and potential customers visit your blog they are learning information not only from what you have written in the bog, as well as information about your company.

Blog customization may include a wide variety of elements. Besides utilizing a custom interface that includes links to your company’s website and contact information, as well as a visual design that coordinates with your existing brand identity, blog customization involves utilizing a variety of add on features. Also known as “plug ins” and “widgets” these custom blog features include giving visitors to your blog the ability to easily forward content that they found useful or interesting to their friends, which may generate an additional visit or two to your blog, as well as the ability to post a link to that content in more public places. While an e-mailed link might lead to one or perhaps two visits, giving your blog’s readers the ability to post content that they found worthwhile to more public social venues, such as popular social media websites Twitter and Facebook, can lead to dozens of new visitors depending on the initial visitors’ existing social network.

When you hire experts in blog customization, such as EBAR Solutions, you are able to make use of talented graphic designers as well as knowledgeable technical experts. This combination of skills means that your company’s blog will be easy to find on the internet and easy to read for your visitors.

In current times, consumers want to be able to interact with their favorite businesses online. However, maintaining a website can be difficult, time consuming, and expensive. Fortunately, businesses that simply don’t have the means or time to maintain a website, can create their online presence through social media.

Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, Youtube videos, and other social websites are some of the first results that search engines provide when searching for a person or business. Business owners should take advantage of these free resources and become active in social media, even if they do not own a website.

Being active on social networking websites gives customers a way to interact with yourcompany, in an easy way that they are familiar with. While it is generally a good idea to have an official website, social media can help you get used to maintaining an online presence, until you have the means and expertise to operate your own website.

Part 9 of 10

Many business owners are intimidated by social media. They worry that creating a profile or account on one of the popular social networking websites will be difficult and require a great deal of maintenance. Fortunately, this is not the case.

Social media is easy, even for the least technology savvy of people. If creating and maintaining a Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, or other account were difficult, they would not be so widely popular. However, everyone, their parents, and their grandparents are active in social media. This is because these sites are easy to navigate.

While creating an account on a social networking website may be a bit time consuming, this is, by far, the most difficult part. Once the account is set up, business owners can quickly and easily add posts or updates whenever they have the time. This means that a business can be highly visible to a large number of consumers, with very little effort on a business owner’s part.

Additionally, social media is fun. Once you get he hang of “tweeting” or updating your status, you’ll find yourself spending more and more time on these websites. If anything, you will have a hard time pulling yourself away, rather than forcing yourself to provide consistent updates. While the average business owner would not exactly consider most advertising fun, social media can quickly change that perception.

Free Advertising Is the Best Type of Advertising

Advertising can be expensive. In fact, advertising can be one of a business owner’s largest expenses. This is why it is so important to take advantage of the free advertising opportunities that social media presents.

Becoming active in social media is free. Business owners do not have to pay to create a fan page on Facebook, an account on Twitter, upload videos to Youtube, or use other social media. However, these websites offer the opportunity to reach just as, if not more people than other marketing techniques.

Social media also allows businesses to tap into the mobile market. Many social media websites have their own applications that allow members to access their website on their mobile phones.
Currently, over 37% of Twitter users and over 100 million Facebook users access these websites from their mobile phones. Unlike other websites that are not phone-friendly, social media websites help businesses connect to consumers while they are browsing the web on the go.

Social media websites are also indexed by popular search engines. Additionally, search engines recognize links from social websites and count them when ranking a business’s website(s).
This means that businesses can become more visible in the search engines, simply by joining social websites.

Part 7 of 10

Business owners previously had to visit their competitors to see what they were up to and how they were doing. Fortunately, with the booming popularity of social media, those days are long gone. Business owners can simply log onto any number of social websites to see just what they are up against.

Being aware of your competition is helpful in a few different ways. The first way is because it helps you see what unique things a competitor is offering their customers. While it is never a good idea to blatantly copy another business, this will keep you updated on new products, services, or advertising ideas that you were previously unaware of. Social media also helps you stay up to date on promotions and sales that your competitors are offering, which will help you offer your customer competitive prices and avoid losing business.

Social media can also help business owners build relationships with their competitors and other local businesses. This will keep the lines of communication open for possible future collaborations and business deals. Just because another business is your competition, does not mean you can’t be a follower, fan, or friend.

Part 6 of 10

Social media is about being social, not just about advertising and promotion. Getting involved in social media gives businesses a chance to get to know their customers and build relationships. Not only does this help business owners understand who their products and/or services appeal to, but it helps them secure a loyal customer base.

Social media allows customers to communicate with their favorite businesses. Customers can share suggestions, voice complaints, compliment great service, and interact with business owners. This will let you know what you are doing right, what you may want to change, and give you the opportunity to take care of any unhappy customers.

Many social media websites also give business owners the opportunity to recognize and show their appreciation to their loyal customers. You can create a list of your loyal customers on Twitter, post pictures of faithful customers on Facebook or Myspace, or even send out special promotional offers to regulars. Making your customers feel special is a great way to keep them coming back time and time again.

While business owners use to have to build relationships in person, social media presents a unique way to build lasting relationships. After all, social media is supposed to be entertaining and fun, not just another way to inundate consumers with ads or sales pitches.

Part 5 of 10

Social Media helps companies build a persona. These websites help businesses gain their voice and put a face to their name. Instead of simply being viewed as another retailer, restaurant, or other company, customers will be able to see your company’s personality through your profile, pictures, and updates.

Additionally, businesses that take the time to become active in social media have the opportunity to mold the public’s perception of them. Social media allows businesses to really evolve and show consumers who they are. You can promote yourself as trendy, upscale, luxurious, quirky, eco-friendly, or anything that you want. Your customers will be able to see your unique vision directly from you, which will help you create a recognizable “brand”, instead of just another faceless business.

However, building a brand takes time and effort. It means joining more than one social media website and simply putting in the minimum effort. If you want a “brand”, you must put the time and effort into high quality profiles, interesting updates, and various social media outlets. Get involved in Facebook, Twitter, and Foursquare. If you really want to get creative, begin a blog or upload fun videos to Youtube. Become as active as possible, without becoming overwhelming, and watch how fast your business becomes a recognizable name.
